The Best Birthday I’ve Ever Had My 53rd birthday dinner on Lake Travis wasn’t just special — it was the best birthday I’ve ever had, and that is entirely because of Chef Gabby from Platesfull. From the moment I stepped inside, she created an atmosphere that felt magical. The dining table was beautifully decorated with fresh roses, and a stunning path of rose petals led all the way from the front door to the table. Walking through that trail of roses into a beautifully set dinner felt romantic, thoughtful, and unforgettable. And then there was Chef Gabby herself — warm, kind, and full of genuine joy. Her smile lights up any room, and she carries a calm confidence that makes you feel instantly comfortable. She made the evening feel personal, intimate, and full of love. Every dish she prepared showed her talent and her heart. The bacon‑wrapped scallops, deviled eggs with goat cheese, bacon, and raspberry vinaigrette, stuffed mushrooms, and shrimp cocktail martini were crafted with such balance and creativity that each bite felt like part of a story she was telling through her food. The surf and turf was the centerpiece of the night. The herb‑crusted ribeye was cooked perfectly, full of deep flavor, and the lobster tail was tender and sweet. She paired them with a grilled peach arugula salad topped with goat cheese, pecans, and balsamic vinaigrette, which added a bright, refreshing contrast that made the whole plate come alive. The candied bacon and roasted Brussels sprouts were sweet, smoky, and beautifully charred, and the gourmet mac and cheese was rich, velvety, and comforting. And I have to say this because it’s the truth — Chef Gabby let me be a “fat girl” and she delivered on everything. She didn’t judge, she didn’t rush, she didn’t hold back. She made sure I enjoyed every single bite, every moment, every detail. It felt freeing, joyful, and full of love. Dessert was its own celebration. The martini tiramisu cups were elegant and light, the crème brûlée had the perfect crack of sugar on top, and even though the white cake with strawberry buttercream came from a local store, Chef Gabby picked it up herself and presented it with the same care she put into every dish. It was the sweetest finishing touch to an already perfect night. Chef Gabby didn’t just cook — she created a moment in time that felt romantic, meaningful, and unforgettable. Her kindness, her smile, and her attention to detail made the entire evening feel personal and full of heart. I will never forget this night, and I will never forget what Chef Gabby made it feel like. Platesfull didn’t just deliver a meal — they delivered the best birthday of my life.

Gabby is fun to work with, finds great joy in cooking and preparing special dishes, and eager to collaborate with her clients. She is dependable, punctual, and organized. She knows how to manage her time to prepare multiple dishes in a given session. We’ve loved having Gabby as our chef for all these years!

Gabby has been our chef for the past 5 years, and our multi-generational family of 6 has enjoyed her food immensely. She knows how to adjust seasoning, ingredients, and cooking techniques for the best flavors. She is able to cook several Asian dishes that require skill that our family loves, such as steamed green onion and ginger chicken. She also learned to cook gluten free/ casein free dishes for special dietary needs.
