My 53rd After Birthday Brunch at a cozy VRBO cottage on Lake Travis became one of the most peaceful and heartfelt mornings I’ve ever experienced. Chef Tony brought a calm, warm presence that made the entire brunch feel personal, thoughtful, and full of genuine care. He was incredibly accommodating, attentive, and kind — the type of chef who makes you feel taken care of without ever needing to ask. He set up the entire buffet‑style brunch outside, letting Lake Travis serve as the backdrop. The sunlight reflecting off the water, the quiet breeze, and the stillness of the lake made the morning feel serene and almost magical — a moment that felt like a gift. The brunch began with a beautiful meat and cheese board, arranged with intention and color. It included strawberries, different cheeses, two varieties of meats, and both green and black olives, paired perfectly with fig spread and warm baguette toast. It was elegant, inviting, and full of flavor. The New York strip steaks were served on a platter, cut into slices so everyone could enjoy them easily, cooked with richness and care. The breakfast potatoes were served two ways — one topped with cheese, the other with fresh jalapeño slices — each comforting and delicious. The arugula salad with cherry tomatoes added a bright, refreshing balance to the meal. One of the most memorable parts of the brunch was the omelet station, complete with nine different ingredients. Using fresh brown eggs, Chef Tony made omelets exactly the way each person wanted — slow, patient, and with a warm smile that made the morning feel relaxed and personal. Even the drink station showed his attention to detail. Alongside classic mimosas, he offered pomegranate and blackberry juice by GoodBelly — a vibrant, healthy alternative that made the brunch feel even more thoughtful. There was something deeply comforting about the way Chef Tony approached this brunch. It wasn’t rushed. It wasn’t routine. It felt like he wanted the morning to matter — and it did. Honestly, the best part of waking up at the Lake Travis cottage was Chef Tony’s cooking. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a brunch that feels personal, warm, and full of heart. His skill, kindness, and quiet joy shine through in every bite.
